Pre-Conversion Best Practices
Take advantage of every feature of your
core system
Open Solutions recognizes that financial institutions
have many products, services and processes that are unique. DNA is designed
to work in tandem with your practices whether they are standard
or customized. The Pre-Conversion Best Practices Assessment makes
sure that each and every process in your institution takes full
advantage of the features and capabilities of DNA.
Our Process
The Best Practices Assessment is composed of two reviews, each performed at
different points during your implementation process:
Phase I Review
Process Mapping – The objective of Process
Mapping is to evaluate your current front and back office processes,
to map them to the system capabilities and to identify process
modifications to enable you to take advantage of DNA
capabilities. Once the evaluation is complete, we map each
process to the features inherent in our core solution and identify
gaps between existing processes and DNA Best Practices.
Outcomes
You’ll receive a summary report which identifies gaps between your processes
and our best practices. The report includes workflow documentation and recommends
proven methods for closing those gaps. We provide a process map that links
each of your institution’s processes to a DNA feature. Processes
that may benefit from a change in configuration or a custom modification are
noted in detail. You’ll also receive a phone consultation with your Open
Solutions consultants and the project manager assigned to the conversion. The
consultation enables clients to answer questions, review recommendations and
plan for the implementation.
Phase II Review
Security and Authorizations – This review
takes place between the first cut and mock implementation.
It consists of three onsite workshops conducted over three
days, followed by review and testing as needed. The first session
provides you with an overview of DNA security architecture
and security-related system settings. In the second session,
consultants work with you to determine access requirements
for each department or functional area. During the third session,
we guide each functional area through the process of defining
specific, detailed access and security requirements. The Phase
II review is completed before mock conversion, giving you the
opportunity to test and modify security/authorization configurations
before you go live with your system.
Outcomes
Following the Security and Authorizations Review, Open Solutions’ clients
are better prepared to “Go Live.” Specific user access requirements
have been identified, configured and tested. From day one, our goal is to make
sure your system users can access the information they need to better serve
your clients.
