Cliff Waggoner, Co-Founder of Open Solutions Inc. Passes Away

-- Visionary’s design expertise foundation of Open Solutions technology platform --

GLASTONBURY, Conn., May 15, 2007 – Open Solutions Inc.®, a leading provider of integrated data processing technologies for banks, credit unions and other financial services providers across the United States, Canada and other international markets, announced that Cliff Waggoner, the company’s revered co-founder and chief architect, passed away on Friday, May 11 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66.

Cliff Waggoner, known simply as Cliff by all those who worked with him, co-founded Open Solutions in a basement in 1992 with the idea of bringing relationship based technology to the financial services industry. Cliff’s background included more than 30 years of information system and design experience that covered a wide range of technology and application development areas. Cliff’s remarkable career included spending 10 years in the U.S. Navy; 17 years with EDS as a technology architect and in system development; and five years as a principal with Linc Systems in the areas of systems consulting and development. His design expertise became the foundation for the Open Solutions data model.

Today, Open Solutions is recognized globally as having one of the fastest growing platforms in the financial services marketplace and as a leading provider of enterprise relational core data processing, Internet banking, cash management, CRM/business intelligence, financial accounting, interactive voice response, Check 21, electronic image/item processing, payments and loan origination solutions for banks, credit unions and other financial services providers throughout the world.

Open Solutions has more than 5,200 clients using one or more of the company’s products or services and employs more than 1,900 employees throughout the United States, Canada and abroad.

We will all miss Cliff and on behalf of Open Solutions, our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to his devoted wife Jennie and to Cliff’s entire family.”
