Open Solutions Delivers Robust New CUnify Core Solution to Credit Unions

Glastonbury, Conn., January 23, 2012 – Open Solutions Inc.®, a leading provider of integrated enabling technologies for financial service providers throughout the United States, Canada and other international markets, today announced it has successfully migrated all of its DNAsme credit union clients to CUnify™ – the company’s upgraded core solution for credit unions with less than $250 million in assets.

 

Open Solutions has invested heavily in rewriting DNAsme.  The result is the newly introduced CUnify platform, built on the Java development platform and the easy-to-manage Sybase database management system. The platform includes a robust menu of features that improve back-office operations and efficiencies as well as superior member service. Drawn to the enhanced platform, Open Solutions’ CUnify base has seen rapid growth over the last 18 months, spiking from 80 to 135 clients.

 

“We’re impressed with the look and feel of the system and the screen design. It is obvious to us that Open Solutions has put a lot of time into designing the improvements and to make CUnify more intuitive. We’re also very excited that all the accounts can be grouped together so we can view the entire member profile in one shot, rather than having to look around the system,” said Liz Steffen, vice president of accounting and information systems at Envista Credit Union in Kansas.

 

CUnify is built around the member to help credit unions improve service and enhance loyalty.  Its real-time deposit, lending and internet banking functions reflect all changes as they occur to both employees and members, providing consistency between all channels. The system’s robust accounting features let front-line and back-office employees enjoy the same, easy to use work-flows.

 

Clients migrating to CUnify have enjoyed the ease of implementation, streamlined upgrades and reduction in training requirements in both an on demand “data center” and on premise “in house” environment. The web-based system and new Intel-Linux operating environment is a perfect fit for these credit unions’ IT departments to manage and deploy throughout their branches.

This upgrade has re-invigorated the CUnify Client Association as well, boosting participation by 50 percent. The association is actively engaged with Open Solutions to openly discuss future product features, as well as the sharing of best practices between a growing number of peers.

 

Steffen is a member of the association and its Strategic Committee. “This shows us that Open Solutions is dedicated to going forward with the product.
